Women's Shed organising the Christmas Fair

We are proud to announce that the Yackandandah Women's Shed has been asked to organise the Christmas Fair this year. The Fair, previously known as the High Country Christmas Fair, hasn't been held for a few years, due largely to COVID-19 restrictions and bushfires. But in 2021 we are bringing it back, in a slightly different format.

The theme of the Fair will be Buy Local By Locals very - local craftspeople, local organisations for local people. There will also be a strong sustainability theme - very limited plastic. To that end, we plan to use some of the fabric we have acquired to make tote bags for people to purchase (at very low cost) instead of using plastic bags for all their Christmas shopping on the day.

The Fair will be held in the Memorial Gardens on December 5th. So we will be looking for Women's Shed members to assist in the organisation of the Fair.

We also wish to have our own stall at the Fair, with a Christmas theme. So our meetups over coming months will start to take on a Christmas feel. So come along with ideas for items we can make and sell on our stall, or with a willing attitude to learn how to make different Christmas crafty things. Like these adorable little finger puppets for little fingers! What a lovely stocking filler they would make!
