Workshops and Events
The Yackandandah Women's Shed meets in a wide range of interest groups at different times each month. We have occasional members meetings as well to share developments and update members on what's happening.
We have some special interest groups that meet regularly to share their skills and craft - see details below.
We also run workshops on topics of interest to our members on an ad hoc basis. We also organise some purely social events, just to have fun and enjoy each other's company. Follow the Yack Women's Shed on Facebook to keep abreast of what's on offer and check your emails from the Women's Shed.
Registrations and payments for our ad hoc workshops are usually through an online system. Links to bookings are provided on our Facebook page and in emails sent to all members

Mosaics Interest Group
Meets: 2nd and 4th Saturdays and Monday afternoons
A group of women's shed members meet on the 2nd and4th Saturdays each month as well as every Monday afternoonto work on their mosaics projects. They meet on the second and last Saturday of each month from10:00am until 3pm. The group also meets on Monday afternoons from 1:00pm until 3pm. New members to this special interest group are welcome. BYO morning tea and lunch. (warm clothing needed during the cooler months!).

Artist Group
Meets: Advanced group Wednesdays 9am-12pm; Beginners Wednesdays 1-3:30pm
The fabulous award winning artist Suzannah Lees is back to support our budding visual artists. The advanced group, which meet every Wednesday morning have developed their skills enormously since starting and are producing amazing artworks! We have just commenced a new beginner's group that meets on Wednesday afternoons.
Cost: $20 per session

Woodys Group
Meets: Every Tuesday afternoon, 1-4pm
We have a growing group of members who are interested in working with wood and tools. In 2026 the Woodys are working under guidance from the Men's Shed members, using the wonderful workshop at the Yack Shack. We have a range of project ideas that will help us develop our woodworking and construction skills while producing interesting and useful things.

Mindful Doodling
Meets: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, 2-4pm
Our Mindful doodling group is starting up again in 2026. We’d love you to come along and see if you like this gentle, mindful art activity led by our expert Lynne Davies. All materials will be there for you to use. You’ll learn some simple patterns develop more complex patterns and it’s all free!

Textiles Tribe
Meets: 1st Thursday of each month, 10:00 am - 4:00pm; 3rd Thursday of each month 2pm -4pm
This group has a wide range of interests - all related to textiles in some way. We sew projects for our end of year stall and for community groups as well as work on our own projects. We explore different types of techniques for sewing, mending, upcycling fabrics as well as learning different embroidery and handcraft techniques. We share our different skills and interests related to textiles.
Cost: $2 per session ( to contribute to cost of materials)

Members' Meetings
Every six months we hold an open member's meeting where the Committee update us on what's been happening and what is planned. These meetings are a great opportunity to connect with other members and have meaningful input into how our Shed is run. Check Facebook for meeting dates and times.

Tuesdays at The Shack
Dates: 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month
Twice each month all members are encouraged to come along to the Yack Shack rooms to meet up with other members to work on our community projects, your own projects, or to just chat over a cup of tea or coffee. New members and old are all welcome.
