2022 was the second year the Women's Shed has taken on responsibility for organising the Yackandandah Christmas Fun Fair. And 2022 was another resounding success.
Our members worked hard through the preceding months making craft items for our own stall, and approaching local traders for donations for our raffle prizes. Our wonderful local traders donated over $1000 in vouchers and items which were greatfully received. Many thanks to the Newsagent, Post Office, Pharmacy, Vintage Alley, Backwoods Distilling Co, 7th Pocket, Buddha Shop, Old Garage, Washos Bikes, Happy Baker, Foodworks, Gumtree Pies, CC’s Meats, Vivienne Cate, Marobe Cakes, Yack Hotel ( Bottom Pub), SLUGA Gallery, The Guard, YCDCo, Feather & Drum, Beechworth Bakery, Yack Garden Club, Cinderella Soaps, Klimt, Golden Tricycle, Yknot, Yack Creek Distillery. Your support is amazing!
The weather was once again stunning, the people turned up in droves, the 32 stallholders had wonderful wares on sale - what more could we ask for? Our stallholders were happy, our customers were happy, the kids making their craft were happy and the Women's Shed bank account was happy! While not everything the Women's Shed does is about raising funds, this event is a big fund raiser for us and having a successful Fair does bring our long term goal of a shed of our own that bit closer. It's also a fantastic community event. So a hearty congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped, in whatever capacity, to make this such a successful day.
