ANZAC Day Singalong

The Women's Shed were out in force assisting with the second annual YCC/Arts Yack sponsored ANZAC Day Singalong. Lead by the creative genius of Lynne Davies, a small team of Shedders cut, pasted and zhuzhed crepe paper into stunning larger than life poppies (120 of them!) to decorate the Public Hall. Lynne had also procured a large range of images of world wars and Vietnam, including some images of local heroes and family members of Yackandandah residents who had served in theatres of war to also decorate the hall. A highlight of the decorations was a collection of props on stage, beautifully lit and arranged by Lynne.

A larger team of Women's Shed adopted a more traditional role by providing a stunning supper for the 80 people attending the evening. Sandwiches, scones, pikelets, sausage rolls, zucchini slice, tea and coffee, and of course, Anzac biscuits! All were well received and disappeared quickly. And based on how popular the food was, the Women's Shed has been asked to cater for a forthcoming Arts Yack event.

Many thanks to all the members who helped out before, during and after this wonderful community event.
